Cancer affects us all. Two in five Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. However, we now know that fifty percent of cancers can be prevented through healthy living and policies that protect the public.

The Canadian Cancer Society Step by Step Challenge is a health and wellness based fundraising event for your employees.

Health experts recommend taking 10,000 steps per day to ensure our long-term health but many Canadians fall short of this goal.

The Step by Step Challenge will motivate your employees to improve their overall health by increasing their level of physical activity. It will encourage them to take more steps by making simple, practical changes to their daily routine. It will also provide them with information on other steps they can take to prevent cancer. The event takes one week - but the healthy habits will last a lifetime.

Companies register to participate and are provided with a complete event kit, including step counters (pedometers), tracking forms, an event planning guide and promotional materials to get your staff motivated.

Through the Step by Step Challenge, employees will not only increase their level of physical activity, but learn more about ways they can live a healthier lifestyle. We will provide you with e-mail templates to distribute to your staff with information on topics including healthy eating, physical activity and other ways to help your staff reduce their cancer risk.
