Relay for life in memory of my Mom

In December of 2007, my mom, Janice Lowes was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

In December of 2007, my mom, Janice Lowes was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In January she was told it was inoperable and chemotherapy/radiation would not help fight this type of tumour. The tumour was invading her main blood vessel and eventually invaded the small intestine.

My mom was a grandmother to ten children, five girls and five boys. They loved her deeply and she loved them unconditionally. Until the very end my Mom was at home, continuing to work on her needlepoint and finished a bib two days prior to her admission to the hospital. She was loved by her dedicated husband of 43 years and two loving children. In the end, it was a very peaceful passing, surrounded by her loving family.

This Relay for Life is going to help me heal and give back to the community that helped our family through this difficult time. Even though my mother has passed away, she is still bringing our family and friends together to bond and share, in this special day.
