Lets find that cure!!

CANCER. What a awful word... let's find that cure and kick cancer into nowhere. My nanny, my mom, aunts, uncles and many friends who have been cursed with this awful six letter word. This is why I relay.

My grandmother (Nanny) was told she had cancer in 1996, the doctors told her she could not be cured of the type of cancer she had, but they could control it, to a point, and then gave her seven years to live.

Well, my dear friends, she lived for four of the seven years, until 2000. What an awful four years it was!

To see and woman go from everything I wanted to be: the nicest, caring most wonderful person I could ever know, not to forget always on the go and involved in everything out there, to someone who could hardly lift her head off her pillow. I still remember her last Christmas. What a blessing! We all thought she was going to pass away, but for some reason she gained strength and was up and walking Christmas day and got out her dobrow and played Christmas songs.

I will always treasure that in my heart... and then you have my mom who has been battling skin cancer for the past twenty years. She had six surgeries to get rid of it. It is the same with my aunts and uncles and my grandfather.

So you see this is why I relay. I want to find that cure and kick cancer for good!
