The old days

My grandchildren will never hear the words "you have cancer."

When I was a child my brother was diagnosed with tuberculosis. My family was devastated. The doctors did not expect him to last more then a week when he first went in the hospital. That was 1956 and we will celebrate his 60th birthday tomorrow. Today we hardly ever hear of anyone dying with tuberculosis, my children were not afraid of it like we were.

Is it possible we can do the same with cancer and make it too go away like the dinosaur?

I relay with the hope my three grandchildren will live in a world where they will never be afraid of hearing the words "you have cancer." It will be eliminated from our vocabulary forever.
