Why I Relay

My name is Monika. I am relaying for my mom and my aunt. They both had breast cancer.

I believe that this can be a thing of the past if we all stand together. Research funds can help all women and men of the future not have to go through what we are now.

I saw what my mom had to go through. She came to me in tears when she found out she had breast cancer and that it had spread to her liver. She wanted to live for the moment and enjoy her kids, her life. She came to me when she had her eye brows in her hands from taking a shower. She called for me when she couldn't walk alone. I'm glad I could be there to support her....but did I make a difference?

I will walk and Relay For Life with my team and my friends to make a difference. I will raise money for this cause thinking that if enough people pool together to help, we just might make the difference that cancer will be history.
