I Relay For Life!

I Relay so I can help FIGHT BACK! I Relay so I can be a part of making cancer history so other families, and my son, never have to experience the pain and loss that cancer brings with it.

With Relay For Life, I have found a way to give back to something that has offered my family and I so much. Relay For Life gives me HOPE as I hear stories and see other survivors and families. We are not alone, and never should be!
I was a caregiver to my Mom, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago, then a caregiver to her again when she was diagnosed with Leukemia 5 years ago. We leaned on the Cancer Society for information and support when we didn't know who to turn to... and what to believe. How many people have ever tried to Google information on a disease or medical question? You know what I mean... millions of articles, drugs, services, and information, mixed with misinformation in a language that was so beyond comprehension...along with the feelings of terror and helplessness. Did you know that the Canadian Cancer Society has a toll free number? You can call and talk to a real Canadian person and get support on the issues and questions you have.
We all have a reason that we are here, and involved in Relay For Life. I Relay to try to raise awareness. I also Relay to raise money to help the fight and continue research for finding the cure.
