It Takes My Breath Away

Each time I hear or heard the word cancer, I felt as if I couldn't breathe. I was not the patient, but I am someone who loves them. If that word stopped me in my tracks, what did it do to them.

My husband's mother passed away at the age of 43, in 1967, my father passed away at the age of 79 in 2002, and my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006, had treatments into 2007. We have also lost friends and relatives to this unforgiving illness. We went through and continue to have anxiety with each new illness or pain. Every day is a challenge, but also each day we have fills us with joy and greatfulness. There have been new treatments, wonderful doctors, nurses, support, new found friends in our new world of cancer. With each new day we are a step closer to finding the answer we need to find a cure.We also have family and friends, that with new treatments, a positive attitude and a prayer, have survived and are still with us to this day Each day we are faced with something sad or something beautiful, that takes my breath away. Our children and friends join me and my husband Bill, on this journey, which includes the Relay for life, Tomorrow at Wakamow Valley, Moose Jaw, Sask.
