Relay for Leah

Leah was a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, and friend who was stricken with non-hodgkin lymphoma shortly after her 26th birthday and passed away only a few months later.

My daughter Leah was a young mother of two beautiful little girls, aged 10 and 4 when she started to feel tired and sick. She was treated for pneumonia but after treatment wasn't working, the doctors decided to do more extensive testing and they found a mass on her lung and the rest is obvious.
She was diagnosed in late July and was gone before Christmas. She was so brave and maintained her strong personality and sense of humour throughout her battle. She endured countless rounds of chemo that didn't work and 3 different cocktails, each stronger than the last.

She amazed me at her ability to rally and appear so strong when her children were visiting with her. It took everything she had sometimes to pull this together. She fought so hard to stay here for them. They were her life. She told me that she wasn't afraid to die, she was afraid that her children would forget her!

Her life was short but she was so full of life right to the end. She had so many family and friends who loved her and who have shared their memories of her with her children. They will never forget, thanks to them.
