I knew that something was wrong with my Father (age 47) when he started complaining about his knee, but cancer never crossed my mind. Turns out, he has Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It's been a bumpy road, but we have hope. This year, I relay for my Dad!

I knew that something was wrong with my
Father (age 47) when he started complaining about his knee.
He did not go to work for quite some time, I thought he had
injured it on the job. December 2009 rolls around and his knee
was bothering him so much he could hardly sleep. Time passed and
not much had changed. He finally went in for some tests in the spring; I did not hear the results. Mid July 2010, I was getting ready to head to my friends when my Mother and Father sat me down; they told me he had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was shocked... cancer never crossed my mind... It's tough because my Mother is a nurse and treats cancer patients...therefore she knows she would have a rough time going back to work.
My Father starts chemotherapy again soon, and a possible bone marrow
transplant. Otherwise he's doing great, he looks good, and he has hope. He never complains, he's such a strong person!
This year, I relay for my Dad.
