Remembering Dawn

Remembering Dawn
Remembering Dawn

My sister Dawn, a devoted mother and wife, a dedicated nurse, and a phenomenal photographer and scrapbooker passed away from lung cancer at 46 years of age. I'm following my daughter Juliette's example, and walking the relay in her memory.

My sister Dawn passed away from lung cancer at the age of 46 almost five years ago. She didn't smoke. She left behind three extraordinary kids and a wonderful husband who stayed by her side to the very end. She also left behind scrapbooks full of the photographs and heartfelt sentiments of the life she loved. She was full of creativity, laughter, so many good jokes, and love.
My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer when she was sixty two. The doctors told her she had six months to live and that she should try to enjoy that time, make the best of it - that was twenty years and three new grandchildren ago. She is still as feisty as ever. Cancer can be beaten.
