Why I am relaying for my first time.

I am relaying for my first time in support of my family and friends who have been touched by cancer.

I am relaying for my sister who won her battle against cancer and have been cancer free now for five years. Our whole family was devastated of the news that our sister whom we all loved so much was diagnosed with that terrifying word, CANCER!! We have a very close family but she is our mother figure, the person we all look to, when we need someone to soothe us and make us feel loved. It was very difficult watching her go through such a horrible experience. Her attitude remained positive throughout the whole six years. While we were Sending in a lot of prayers to God, to help her get well again, she would say "I rather me go through this then you". Well my prayers were answered and she eventually became cancer free. I was so relieved that this battle was finally over, but at approximately a year and a half ago, I received the news that my 2 sister-in-laws (one of whom is my childhood friend), were diagnosed with Cancer also. Once again I was devastated by the news and had to watch while two more of my loved ones fought their battle with cancer, again I felt so helpless, just wishing there was something more that I could do to help them through this difficult time. Just when we thought things couldn't get much worst we were given the news that their dad, which is my father-in-law who means so much to me, was diagnosed with cancer also. We wondered to ourselves when will all this stop. My father-in-law is still presently receiving treatments and we are all praying that he too will be successful in his fight against cancer. Well! The good news in all of this is that I still have four of these family members with me. My sister is still cancer free, my two sister-in-laws are in remission and my father-in-law (Gusy) the name behind our team {Gusy's Gals), is still doing well and is able to visit their son and I every Saturday night to listen to the cabin party on our local radio channel. Included in my list of people who have been touched by cancer are my friends who have battled the same. This is just the people in my life who have fought the battle with cancer. This is why I am Relaying for the fight against cancer. Please donate to my team called Gusy's Gals on the relay for life site, and help us save lives!! God Bless!!
