Because my mom was way to young to leave
In the year since my mother left we a found differnt ways to grieve. My mom was only 58. Last year was the first time I had participated in the Relay for Life
When I found the people for the team and started to gather pledges I began to sincerely see just how many people have been touched in some way or another by Cancer. Each member had a story of a family or friend who they had lost. We had a survivor join us as well.
The first lap of the relay is the survivor lap was so inspiring to see so many people who had fought or are still fighting walking together celebrating their victory over this disgusting disease.
There were many tears and stories shared that night and it was a great time meeting new people and lending our support to fight against this disease
I encourage everyone to join us May 25 in Steinbach even for just a little while to experience how important this event is for so many people
