A Poem for Charlotte

A Poem for Charlotte
A Poem for Charlotte

I wrote this poem a few days after my 47 year old little sister lost her battle with cancer in 2009. My Mom & Dad have also lost their battles with this horrible disease. I am a 9 year SURVIVOR. I Relay so other families won't have to deal with this.

I'm just sitting
Needing sleep without the dreams
She talks to me at night you know. What we talk about I'm not sure
But she has a lot to talk about.
Sadness comes in waves
My dreams are all I have of her now
I only wish she could've had more time, to talk, to dream,
To do all things she wanted to do.
She was so strong
The pain was intense but so was the desire to live
She was always there for me,
But she would never want to bother anyone.
It all seems so unreal
I'm missing her a lot, I don't think that will ever stop
I really don't know what to do next
I can't seem to accept the fact, that she's gone.
Now her body is at peace and
She is working in god's garden
Sleeping on clouds
And swimming in the biggest pool ever
Rest In Peace My Sweet "Little Charlotte"
Charlotte, it's been 3 years since that early morning when I held your hand and said it's OK if you want to go and you gracefully slipped into the Lord's arms. I love & miss you little sis.
