Why I Relay

Cancer has touched my life in many ways but the worst thing it did, was take my best friend of 46 years, my husband Harry on dec.08,2011.

I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in May 2006. I will be cancer free six years in May. My sister is also a breast cancer survivor. In 2007 my husband's brother was diagnosed with throat cancer. He passed away feb. 2009 at the age of 46. My husband Harry was diagnosed in 2008 with throat cancer. I lost him on dec.08, 2011.My sister-in-law has had cancer for 11 years now. First it was in the bowel, then the lungs and now she has several lumps in her neck. Since my husband died, his 60 year old sister has been diagnosed and his 64 year old brother also, both with lung cancer. Yesterday my 45 year old sister-in-law had a colostomy while they try to shrink her tumor. The relay is a very emotional experience for me, but we must keep on fighting for a cure.
