My son John is my hero

John was diagnosed with cancer when he was one year old.

John was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when he was 22 months old, for the next 3.5 years he followed a protocol of chemotherapy treatments, steroids and antibiotics. Many times he was admitted to hospital when he became sick and had little to no immune system. John finished his chemotherapy just 4 months ago and is doing great! He starts kindergarten in September and is a happy and healthy little boy! Emily (8) has been a supportive and nurturing sister, she is mature beyond her years. I love them both dearly.
I have met many families, doctors, nurses and beautiful children over the past few years. They have made such an positive impact on my life and my outlook of the future. They have shown me compassion and strength, given hope and guidance, offered me a hug and a cup of tea. I thank you for your kindness and patience, at times I was not easy to deal with.
I walk for the children....
