Why would anyone NOT relay
There are so many reasons to relay. I do it because I am selfish - it makes me feel great.
I don't Relay because I am a survivor (9 years).
I don't Relay because I lost my oldest sister, my dad, my brother-in-law, my daughter's mom or friends.
I Relay because I am very, very selfish person. Relaying makes me feel great. Meeting my caregiver half way on the survivors' lap is a feeling that cannot be explained. Pure, pure exhilaration.
A few years ago, I created the $10K Man (http://10kman.ca) to raise money for Relay in Petawawa. Over $30K was raised the first 4 years - I am going to raise a whole lot more before I drift into obscurity.
That's why I Relay. My question is, why doesn't everyone Relay? Join the fun, join the fight. Remember those we've lost. Celebrate those who survive. Cherish every day of life.
