The true survivor

When I met my husband I knew that his mother was a breast cancer survivor.

When I met my husband I knew that his mother was a breast cancer survivor.

Then last year we received the devastating news that her cancer had returned with a vengeance. Her cancer had spread to her liver and lungs. The doctor did not give us much hope, we believed that this was the beginning of the end.

But not for my mother-in-law! She is the true poster child for cancer. She would not let this disease beat her. She would wake up everyday with a smile on her face and would never let anyone or anything bring her down. She has always had a positive outlook of life and I believe this is why she is still with us. She would go to the hospital for treatment and instead of worrying about herself she would be talking and helping everyone else trying to help them see the positive outlook of life.

The doctor had only given her six months from the time of the prognosis. That was in October, 2007 and she is still here and still going strong. She really makes you step back and look at your own life and realize that life is too short to not enjoy what you have.
