Know your body

If I would have listened to the emergency doctors advice, whos knows what I would have been facing today.

The summer of 2009 had frequent headaches, which I never have, went to the emergency on one day because it was so bad. He told me because the nature of my work (cashier) that I had a pinched nerve and bad posture, take some robaxacet. I told my husband I didn't think so. I went to my family doctor on the way home. I asked to be seen by a neurologist. After seeing him and going for an MRI, he told me I had a brain tumor. This was in Dec. 2009. On Jan. 27, 2011 I had surgery.
The tumor I had was oligoastorytoma- low grade. My doctor said it was the size of a golf ball and had been there for at least 4 years.
To this day I'm followed up by MRI'S. I have joined the local Brain tumor support group which is very helpful. All I can say from my experience is that persistence is everything, know your body and never quit!! I was very lucky to have such a great team by my side!
