My 9th Year Participating In Relay For Life

I Relay for my sister who lost her battle with cancer 8 years ago.

In 2005 I was looking for a way to motative my sister with her 5 year battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2000 at the age of 42.

I found Relay For Life and we registered a team. My sister couldn't participate that first year as she ended up in hospital a week before the event. She was so looking forward to it. We video taped the evening and wrote in a journal for her.

Our second year of Relay my sister died the night before and only some of her nieces and newphews stayed the night, me and my sisters could only walk a couple of laps as it was too tough for us.

We've continued to participate in Relay For Life in memory of her and our mom who died of lung cancer in 2008 and in honour of my brother who was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago.

I Relay because cancer doesn't sleep.
