Let's face it cancer is a devastating disease affecting everyone at some point in their life.

Let's face it cancer is a devastating disease affecting everyone at some point in their life. I never gave much thought to cancer until it hit so close to home. Funny how that works, something so global affecting people all over the world, taking lives, but it took my mom to get cancer to make me really stop and think about it.

My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer November 2011 at the age of 47. That year was a rollercoaster, it went from mom being diagnosed, to early stages removable, to surgery, to it spreading to a stage 4 and inoperable, to chemo and radiation, to finally our miracle in June.....the cancer was gone! Complete and utter euphoria, our prayers had been answered.

January 2013 came along....mom was experiencing frequent and intense headaches.... A brain tumour was found. The brain tumor was successfully removed one week later. Mom underwent radiation, was sick, tired, lost her hair. But still throughout this journey my mom's strength was abundant, her hope was and still is inspiration to us all. My moms battle might not be over yet, but it's a battle she will not fight lightly and a battle she will never have to fight alone!
