The year I said "Hello" & "Good-bye"
Why I am walking in the Relay For Life this year
This past year has been one of the most heartbreaking and joy filled years that I can remember. The two most important people in my life came and left within a few short months.
I am walking for my mother. For the woman who not only gave me life, but taught me life. I am walking for the angel that left this world and the new angel that has come. My mother was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 lung cancer in early May and a few weeks later I gave birth to my son. We all tried to deal with the situation as best we could until August when they told us that the cancer had spread to her brain and said the one thing we all feared. She was dying. My son will know anything and everything about his grandmother.
I am walking for those who supported us during our tough times and the ones who visited my mother while she was sick. I am walking for my sister and father who have lost a loved one as well. And I am walking for me, to show my commitment to the woman who meant everything to me.
