Fundraising Ideas

How to get involved

It's people like you who make it possible for Cops for Cancer to help children and their families who are facing cancer.

There are many ways to get involved: volunteer at an event, make a donation to your local rider or host your own fundraising event.

Ideas to get you started...

Jail and Bail — local police officers “arrest” community “celebrities” (Mayor, TV personality, your boss, etc.) who must then “make bail” with the help of their friends, family and contacts.

Community Dinners— are you connected in your community? Try organizing a dinner event for your local riders. These fundraisers help to raise your profile and engage community members in a worthy cause.

Pole Sit — volunteer at one. Our riders spend 50 hours, 50 feet in the air atop a scissor lift. They need lots of help collecting donations and talking to the public about the Canadian Cancer Society’s work.

Golf Tournament — register for a Cops for Cancer golf tournament in your community. Not a golfer? That’s okay—volunteer to help with registration, putting contests, hole-in-ones or silent auction tables.
