Upon completion of her challenge, Lisette will nominate someone to take on the next Ultimate MAC Challenge in support of the Mortgage Alliance Fund for Innovation in Cancer Research at the Canadian Cancer Society.

Lisette Amalfi

Lisette Amalfi was introduced to Mortgage Alliance by her father Fred in 2002 and hasn’t looked back. She has enjoyed her full mortgage career with the best brokerage and sits among the top 5% of mortgage agents in the country. Starting as an agent Lisette expanded to purchase a franchise in 2006 and operates Mortgage Alliance Oac Mortgages in Dundas, Ontario with a successful team of amazing agents. Lisette married her love Steve last year. It only took them 10 years to walk down the aisle! They have a blended family of 4 children they love dearly and are raising their beautiful 2 year old granddaughter.

Claire Drage is an active member of the mortgage and real estate investing industry for more than 30 years. She started her career managing over 140 properties in Spain and upon moving to Canada began growing her own mortgage brokering business including an ever expanding team of successful agents. Heather Cermak I am fortunate enough to have grown up in our amazing industry. As one of the Mortgage Mafia Daughters, I began working for my father Lorne Keetbaas at Kee-West Financial when Morty was the tech of choice and you had to courier docs to the lender. I worked with Home Trust, Noble Mortgages and Merix Financial in Business Development while serving two terms as a Director for The Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia. I have been working back in Calgary for almost 4yrs as the Prairies Regional Manager with Mortgage Alliance (BEST COMPANY EVER!). I also chair the Communications position as a Director of the Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association. My husband Ivan and I have two cheeky little boys named Dutch (6) and Maclayne (4) (each named after 80s action movie heroes). I am excited and proud to partake in this crazy MAC Rally of Hope Challenge to raise $$ for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Ben Kawa started at First National in April 2002 as National Director of Sales & Strategic Relationships. He has not been promoted since!! However, when he started there were under 100 First National employees (there are just under 1000 today), 2 Account Managers (close to 30 today), 6,000 First National Customers (over 220,000 today) and only one 5 year mortgage rate (dozens today!). Ben said that “working at First National has been one sweet, soulful, fun and fantastic ride. It is the best gig I have had in my life. I am grateful to be part of a great team, working with great Brokers coast to coast, helping Canadians obtain the mortgage they deserve.

Joe Pinheiro is the Vice President of Sales at Mortgage Alliance and has been an integral part of the company for almost 20 years. Committed to raising awareness and funds for the cancer research, Joe has been riding in the MAC Rally of Hope since its inception in 2007.

Paul Taylor was appointed President and CEO of Mortgage Professionals Canada In January 2016. Paul is a seasoned association executive, bringing 10 years’ experience from a prior association role serving the insurance broker community. Paul also spent 3 years leading the Canadian national sales effort for an enterprise communications software company. In his early career he was a facilitator and course designer of insurance technical materials for a prominent Canadian property/casualty insurer. He is a proven leader with an extensive background in sales, operations, education, marketing and government relations.

Paul earned his Master’s of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University in June 2014. He also has an Honours Diploma in Jazz Performance from Humber college which he earned when he was young and idealistic and thought he could somehow make a living with a guitar.

Marc Mahoney - "I have the pleasure of living in my beautiful hometown of St. John's, NL, and enjoy spending time with my magnificent wife and three beautiful children, as well as participating in sports, including soccer. I've had the privilege of working as a Mortgage Broker for just under 10 years, currently as Broker / Owner of Mortgage Alliance - Shoreline Mortgages. I've lost family to cancer, had others with near misses, and have had the pleasure of participating in the MAC Rally of Hope in the past in aid of the Canadian Cancer Society, including riding from Vancouver to St. John's on my little Kawasaki Ninja.

Michael Beckette is the founder and CEO of Mortgage Alliance. He currently lives in Markham, Ontario with his beautiful family.

Some facts you SHOULD know about Mike:

  1. He has been involved with the Rally of Hope since its inception in 2007. Each year he rides coast to coast with a group of friends and colleagues which have become the MAC Rally of Hope family. To date they have raised over $1.2 million for cancer research and awareness.
  2. Mike’s favourite animal is the owl, which is an extremely wise and ancient creature (kind of like Mike LOL).
  3. Mike’s favourite food comes from the sea CRAB!
  4. Mike’s favourite place to travel is beautiful Italy.
  5. Mike doesn’t have any hidden talents; he is self-proclaimed "talentless" although those around him may beg to differ.
  6. Mike’s words to live by are "Listen; everyone knows something you don’t".
