Women In Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC)

Since its inception in 1996, WICC Ontario has raised and donated more than $5 million to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of breast, prostate and general cancer research. Each year, WICC raises funds through a variety of annual fundraising initiatives including their Gala Dinner, Golf Tournament, Breakfast for Cancer and outstanding participation in the Society’s signature fundraising event, Relay For Life. Watch their Relay For Life video! The Society is proud to be the exclusive charity partner of WICC.

Car Heaven by Automotive Recyclers of Canada

For seven years, the Car Heaven program has supported the Society through donations made by people who choose to get their older, high-polluting vehicles permanently off the road. Since the Society was chosen as one of Car Heaven's charities, the program has contributed nearly $300,000 towards the fight against cancer.

Colon Cancer Gala
Founded in 2007 by Nick Natale, the Colon Cancer Gala has raised more than $500,000 (net) for colon cancer research. Nick lost his battle with colon cancer in 2011, leaving this wonderful event in the hands of his daughter Jennifer. The Colon Cancer Gala features a seven course meal, live and silent auction, and lively dance floor.

Federated Health Charities Corporation

Federated Health Charities is a workplace charitable campaign that enables members of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) across Ontario to support up to 16 health charities, including the Society, through payroll deductions, donations and special events. In 2012, members of the OPS donated over $300,000 to the Society, passing on their message that it is “better to give than to receive.”

Foodland has been supporting the Canadian Cancer Society through its "Communities for a Cure" campaign for over 12 years. In 2012, their campaign raised over $80,000, bringing their total contribution to date at more than $1 million towards the fight against cancer.

FreshCo and PriceChopper have been contributing to the Society through their charity golf tournament for nearly 10 years. In 2012, they raised over $113,000 for the fight against cancer.

Healthpartners
Healthpartners is a partnership of 16 national health charities who have come together to raise funds through work place charitable giving programs to improve the health of Canadians. The Society is a proud founding partner and greatly appreciates the support of Healthpartners.

Holiday Inn/ Fortis Properties Ontario
Fortis Properties and several of its Holiday Inn locations participated in various fundraisers in 2012, contributing nearly $50,000 to the fight against cancer.

Hydro One - Employee's and Pensioner's Charity Trust Fund
The employees and pensioners of Hydro One are ongoing and generous supporters of the Society through their charity trust fund. Since 2000, Hydro One employees and pensioners have contributed more than $200,000 to the fight against cancer.

Michael Albert Garron Foundation
The Michael Albert Garron Foundation has been a valued supporter of the Society since 2002, having contributed $450,000 to pediatric cancer research. In 2012, the Michael Albert Garron Foundation’s generous donation supported lifesaving synovial sarcoma research, bringing hope to families.

Minor Hockey Fights Cancer

The second “Feel Like a Pro Day” took place on June 16, 2012. The enthusiastic participation of 200 plus minor hockey players, combined with support from corporate sponsors, helped event founder 12 year old Mark raise $150,000, bringing the two year total to $350,000!


Ontario Power Generation Employees' and Pensioners' Trust

The OPG Employees’ & Pensioners’ Charity Trust has been an ongoing contributor to the work of the Society. In the last decade, OPG’s employees and pensioners demonstrated exemplary generosity by contributing nearly over $2.2 million towards the fight against cancer.

RBC Foundation

As a long-time supporter of the fight against cancer, RBC Foundation has contributed over $2 million to the Society. In 2013, the RBC Foundation contributed $30,000 towards Screening Saves Lives, a program that helps increase knowledge and awareness about early detection and screening and to increase participation in these programs. Their donation will specifically be used to extend this program to South East Asian communities in Peel region.


Running Room

Running Room is a very active partner in the fight against cancer. They have partnered with the Society on the development of Run to Quit, a program designed to help people quit smoking through running. As well as participated as a nationwide Daffodil Pin partner during the month of April. And most recently has come on board as sponsor of our new event, Colours of Hope.

Strategic Charitable Giving Foundation
The Strategic Charitable Giving Foundation is a donor-advised giving program with the Mackenzie Charitable Giving Fund. The Foundation has been helping their donors generate over $100,000 towards the fight against cancer.

The Pink Portage

The Pink Portage
The Pink Portage, a 1,200 km trip across Ontario by Andrew Metcalfe of Toronto, ON took place from June 3 to August 1, 2012. Departing from Kingston, ON, Andrew looped around Ottawa before heading for the finish line in Windsor, ON and raised more than $85,000!

Yorkdale Cops for Cancer
The 17th Annual Yorkdale Cops for Cancer event was held at Yorkdale Shopping Centre on April 13, 2013. This head shave event sees numerous Toronto Police Service officers come out and join forces with their local community in the fight against cancer.

Since 1992, Brookfield Johnson Controls has been delivering integrated real estate management services to our clients in Canada. BLJC has been a generous sponsor of Minor Hockey Fights Cancer for the past 3 years.

Daffydil
Now in its 101st season, Daffydil is an annual musical production put on by U of T Faculty of Medicine students in support of the Society. Since its inception, Daffydil has raised over $500,000 for the fight against cancer and garnered a reputation for entertaining over 1,500 guests annually with a fantastic and comical musical performance.

Dave Mercer Outdoors Inc.
Dave Mercer has generously donated over $140,000 to the Society through his "Dave Mercer's Casting for a Cure" campaign.

DBRS Limited
DBRS is a globally recognized provider of credit rating opinions in North America, Europe, Australasia and South America. DBRS employees have generously contributed close to $75,000 through employee payroll deduction over the past seven years.

Halogen Software Inc.
Halogen Software Inc. held their first Step by Step Challenge in the summer of 2012, raising $13,875 and walking an amazing 6,417,743 steps!

Hawman Container Services
Hawman Container Services has been a loyal supporter of the fight against cancer since 2006.

Julyna
Julyna’s goal is to increase awareness of cervical cancer and promote healthy lifestyle choices in an effort to prevent the spread of HPV. Since 2011, Julyna has raised $60,000 for cervical cancer research.

LCBO
In support of the Society's Daffodil Month, LCBO and its customers raised over $14,000 in 2012. Visit their stores again this April to get your daffodil pin and make a donation in support of the fight against cancer.

Mazda Canada Inc.
For a sixth consecutive year, Mazda Canada is supporting the fight against cancer through their employee payroll deduction program and special fundraisers. Mazda Canada and its employees raised over $15,000 in 2011, bringing their total contribution to over $43,000.

Modern Niagara Toronto Inc.
Modern Niagara Toronto Inc. is a full service prime mechanical contractor in the institutional, commercial, and industrial sectors of the GTA as well as areas north and west of the GTA. They have generously donated more than $15,000 to the fight against cancer over the past five years.

NAPA Auto Parts
For a 13th consecutive year, NAPA Auto Parts hosted its Charity Golf Tournament in support of the fight against cancer. Last year's event raised over $13,000, bringing their total contribution to date to over $100,000.

Oakdale Golf & Country Clubs Longest Day of Golf
The Oakdale Golf & Country Club has been a long-standing supporter of the Society through its "Longest Day of Golf" event. The 2013 event raised more than $6,500 in the fight against cancer!

Payless Shoe Source Canada
In 2012, the employees of Payless Shoe Source Canada generously donated over $15,000 through employee payroll deduction.

Pharmasave Drugs (Ontario) Ltd.
In April 2012, more than 160 Pharmasave locations across Ontario offered daffodil pins to customers in exchange for donations during Daffodil Month, raising an outstanding $20,000 for the fight against cancer.

Shorcan Brokers Limited
On Shorcan’s 14th Annual Charity Day, Merril Lynch a Shorcan client chose the Society as their charity of choice and generously donated their day’s revenue of $11,807 to the fight against cancer.

Terrafix Geosynthetics Inc.
Terrafix Geosynthetics Inc. has been supporting the Canadian Cancer Society through its annual charity golf tournament since 2010 for a total contribution of nearly $30,000.
