Companies Fight Back

Cancer is everyone’s business

Your support of the Society will associate your company with the leader in the fight against cancer. By working together, the Society can help you to:

  • Enhance your corporate image. Most Canadians (66%) have a better opinion of corporations that integrate good cause into their business and 89% expect businesses to consider societal interest at least equal to business interests.*
  • Build relationships. Nearly all consumers say that when companies engage in corporate social responsibility, they have a more positive image of the company (96%), would be more likely to trust that company (94%) and would be more loyal to that company (93%).
  • Show your customers, employees and community that you care about what matters to them. Fighting cancer is the number one health cause amongst Canadians.****
  • Associate with the leader. The Society enjoys mass public support and instant brand recognition. We have the highest ‘top of mind’ awareness of any charity in Canada. People know who we are, what we do and that we make a real difference in the lives of people living with cancer.
  • Create trust amongst consumers and employees. The majority of Canadians (72%) trust a company more if it is effectively engaging in protecting people’s health****, while only 20% trust in the performance of businesses to improve or maintain the health of the public.*** The Society is the most trusted health and cancer charity in Canada.
  • Build brand value. A large number of consumers (76%) are more likely to buy products and services from a company if they know it has brands that support good causes.* More than 91% of consumers would switch brands if a brand of similar quality supported a good cause.**
  • Stand apart from the competition. The majority of Canadians (75%) are more likely to give their business to a company that has fair prices and supports a good cause than to a company that provides deep discounts but does not contribute to good causes.
  • Encourage employee loyalty and goodwill. Most employees (79%) actively involved in their company’s charity program are more likely to feel a strong sense of loyalty to their company.** Most Canadians (78%) expect companies to help employees and their families lead healthier lives.***
  • Protect the future of your business. As baby boomers continue to age, an entire generation of our workforce will be at greater risk of developing cancer. Over the next 30 years, 2.4 million Canadian workers will get cancer.
