About

This April, the Canadian Cancer Society is asking you to Paint Your Workplace or School yellow in honour of Daffodil Month when funds are raised to support Canadians living with cancer. Businesses and schools are joining this nation-wide movement by hosting events and raising funds throughout the month.

Examples of events include:

  • Bake sales
  • Daffodil inspired fashion shows
  • Decorate your office or locker yellow
  • Daffodil selfies- buy a daffodil pin, post a photo of you wearing it using #mydaffodil
  • Wear yellow to work days

…and the list goes on! For more ideas visit cancer.ca/fundraise.

It’s easy to take part.

Decide on your event(s) and the date (s).
  1. You can do one event on one day, or one event every day for a week, or one event every Friday in the month- whatever works for you! Your Canadian Cancer Society representative can work with you to find the best option for your location.
  2. Set up your fundraising page at cancer.ca/fundraise.
  3. Set your fundraising goal.
Spread the word, encourage everyone to get involved.
  1. Hang up posters, make your own or we can provide.
  2. Post on your company or school intranet.
  3. Schools can include information in morning announcements.
  4. Set up an information table at lunch.
  5. Send out emails to all staff.
Run your event!
  1. Take pictures and post on Twitter and Facebook with #mydaffodil
  2. Invite your Canadian Cancer Society representative to attend to thank your participants.
  3. Set a fundraising goal and let everyone know- don’t stop until you reach (or pass that goal).
Submit any funds raised that were not online.
  1. Contact your local Canadian Cancer Society office to arrange for submission of funds. We may be able to have a cheque presentation arranged onsite.
  2. Don’t forget to ask your employer if they will match funds. If you are at a school, challenge local businesses to match the funds you raise. Submit these funds with your own or have them donate online on your fundraising page. They can also send the funds directly to your local Canadian Cancer Society office.
