My name is Patrick Lai, and I am a Border Services Officer with the CBSA. This year, I will be participating in the Cops for Cancer 2019 - Tour De Coast ride to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society. I will be riding cycle 800KM across B.C. alongside with other officers from different Law Enforcement Agencies and Emergency Services personnel to support of children battling cancer.
Sadly, many of us throughout our lives may have had a relative or a friend who may have been diagnosed with cancer. Personally it has affected my family and me with my late aunt Hanna who lost her battle with cancer shortly after Mother’s Day in 2017 after five long years of intense treatment and medications.
This year, I am riding with Cops for Cancer and I have been tasked with raising at least $6,000 to fund the most promising pediatric cancer research, from developing safer and gentler treatments to performing research that helps someone live a better, fuller life after cancer. No one, especially child, should have to battle a monster like cancer. Furthermore, your support will also help provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Thank you for the support.
