One in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
It touches all of us and I’ve had close family, friends and loved ones hear those awful words, “You have cancer.”
That’s why I’m taking part in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast – a nine-day bike ride in September along the Sea to Sky corridor, Sunshine Coast, North Shore and cities in Metro Vancouver from Maple Ridge to Richmond.
Cops for Cancer is one of the largest funders of pediatric cancer research in Canada. Since it began in 1994, it has raised over $50 million to fund life-saving pediatric cancer research and caring support programs like Camp Goodtimes.
This is where I’m asking for your help. I’ve committed to raise a minimum of $6,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society to help support children with cancer and their families. Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
I will be riding in honour of cancer survivors Pam B. and Randy M., and in memory of Charlotte Hogan and of Mary Moore, who was an inspiration with her courage and positivity throughout her battle with cancer.
Thank you for your support, and for helping to bring hope to children and their families facing a cancer diagnosis. Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer.
