Hello and Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page!!
For the past 10 years I have been involved in the fight against childhood cancer via the Kick for a Cure Soccerfest and the Wishes without Borders Initiative. This year I am participating in the Cops for Cancer 2018 Tour de Coast to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society. I will embark on a journey with over 50 law enforcement and emergency services riders during September 19-27, 2018, covering over 800km, approximately 80-90 km per day, we are set to raise over $500,000!
It will involve over 110 school, business and community stops in the following cities: Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, West Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and the Sunshine Coast.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Cops for Cancer cycling tours are community-based events that take place in Northern BC, Greater Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island. Teams of cyclists will make their way through British Columbia, stopping in select communities where riders participate in various fundraising events and speaking engagements. With the backing of more than 60 BC communities and 1000s of volunteers, organizers hope to raise over 2.6 million dollars for the Canadian Cancer Society in 2018.
Cops for Cancer fights childhood cancers by providing funding specifically to three areas of our mission, pediatric cancer research, and support for children and Camp Goodtimes.
Camp Goodtimes is a summer recreation program that provides a unique summer experience for children and teens affected by cancer and their families. Camp Goodtimes has medical supervision and other supports on-site. Participants experience adventure, take on challenges, form lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. Many children and teens are empowered by the time they spend at camp.
Many families are renewed by time away without the stress of coping with cancer. This being said, over the course of this long and humble journey, there have been many amazing stories but alas too many children unfortunately are still losing their respective battles through cancer. Cancer touches all of us in some way. In this light, it is with great humility that I seek your support towards my participation in a 10 day Cops for Cancer ride raising funds towards Childhood Cancer Research. Any little bit help make a difference in the lives of these children battling to stay alive.
Thank you for your generosity,
