This will be my 13th year participating in the fund raising for Tour de Rock Cops for Cancer. I thought last year was a special year being a Guest rider with the Tour de Valley riders; this year is going to be Freakin' AMAZING!!!
This year I get to support my beautiful wife Nicole who is a rider with the Tour de Rock representing the Oyster River Fire Rescue. So this year I'm stepping it up a notch, here's how it's going to work:
- When I reach $2,000 I will dye my hair what ever crazy colour the highest donator wants,
- For every $250 after that I will have a limb or other body part waxed - arms, legs, chest, pits.
- When I reach $5,000 the eye brows will go.
- From there we'll see where we go next :P
Please join me in raising funds to help children fighting cancer. The impact of cancer on the life of a child and their family is devastating. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society through Cops for Cancer are used to fund life-saving research and caring programs like Camp Goodtimes to reduce its impact on families. Camp Goodtimes is a special facility that allows children suffering from cancer to get out and enjoy the outdoors and be a kid again.
Many of you may know that Cancer has impacted me twice and has created the drive for me to help others; fund raising for Cops for Cancer is how I've chosen to help. In 2001 my wife, and high school sweetheart, died from Ovarian Cancer. I was lucky enough to find love again and marry Nicole. As a small child Nicole suffered a rare childhood cancer and had to go through months of cancer treatment. As an adult Nicole remained free of cancer until several years ago when she had her thyroid removed.
Please support and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every donation takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online donating is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
