My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 5 years ago at age 38, it was a shock to us all and she fought like a warrior and won her battle. We can safely say she is a cancer survivor. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for my dad who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 3 years ago at age 67 within 6 weeks of being diagnosed he lost his battle with cancer. My family has been hit hard by cancer and unfortunately for 5 years we lived cancer daily. Treatments, procedures, and endless hospital visits. My wish is that one day families will be able to live without the fear of cancer. Let’s find a cure!
This year I will be cutting off most of my hair to donate to make wigs. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a lot of hair, I have been growing it for a year now and I hope I can make someone’s cancer experience a little better by donating my hair.
I am participating in Cops for Cancer to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
