I am proud to be a part of a new journey with Cops for Cancer Tour De Coast supporting the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight for children & families facing Cancer.
I've been really blessed to have been directly involved in Cops for Cancer for over five years.
Some will know that my role needed to change from rider to support team member after surviving a multiple cardiac arrest event during the 2015 Tour de Coast. I'm forever grateful for the paramedics and staff at Royal Columbian Hospital for saving my life that day.
There never was any question that I would continue to support the Tour in any way I could. The attached photo from our visit to 'Mile Zero' on Highway 101 during my successfully completed 2014 Tour holds great memories, while carrying a strong meaning for me.
Just like 'Mile Zero' for riders, children fighting cancer find themselves at the beginning of a long, difficult climb, but for those children it is a fight for their lives.
I was given the gift in 2015 of many more days. I am proud those days include staying part of an amazing team fighting Pediatric Cancer. I will be very grateful for your support.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please donate and help me raise as much as possible for the kids. Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer.
Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
