Welcome friends and family to my Fundraising Page!
I am happy to say that with the support of my loving family and the North Vancouver RCMP Detachment, I am participating in the 2017 Cops For Cancer'sTour De Coast. This will be the fourth time that I participate in this event! With your continuing support, I have participated twice as a rider and once as a mentor to the North Vancouver riders.
The money raised from the Cops For Cancer Tour de Coast helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
My personal reason for participating is in memory of a corageous young man, Taylor Parsons. He was the son of one of my best friends, and through his journey with this disease, he enjoyed his times at CAMP GOODTIMES for a number of years. The experiences that he lived through at this camp and the friendships that he made there gave him strenght and hope for many years. Unfortunately he lost his brave battle at the end, just as he was planning to become a camp-counsellor himself. It is thus in his memory that in a small way I contribute to another child to attend this great summer camp, where children suffering cancer can have fun and just be children again for a time. Medical personnel, staff members and their facilities are either volunteer or maintained by the Canadian Cancer Society, with no cost to the children and their family! (It takes $1,500.00 dollars for a child to attend CAMP GOODTIMES, and no child is left behind!)
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your continuing support!!
