I am participating in the 2018 Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast AGAIN this year, to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
This is my 4th year riding in this epic ride and my second year as the Co-Captain. As you guessed - I really love this entire program and I love coming back each year to see these brave kids who have battled cancer and who are still doing great and are still alive! I feel that we are really making a difference but still have a long way to go so that no parent ever has to hear those awful words again, "Your son/daughter has cancer"
Cops for Cancer is a huge supporter of Camp Goodtimes which is in Maple Ridge BC. The lucky kids that get to go here have called it "Disneyland for Kids on their Cancer journey". Kids diagnosed with cancer get to forget all about it for a week at this amazing medically supported camp where kids can be kids! It costs $1500 to send one kid to camp! Camp Goodtimes is also a supporter of the parents and siblings of these brave kids.
The money raised from this ride helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving pediatric cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
