I am excited to be participating in Cops for Cancer Tour De Coast to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
On September 19-27, I will begin a 800km+ cycling trip, with over 9 days of touring from the lower mainland area, sunshine coast, then up the sea-to -sky highway and past Whistler to Pemberton. Each day will include visits to local communities, schools, fundraising events, and raising awareness in the fight against cancer.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge, no matter the size, helps to battle cancer. Each donation above $25 will receive an official receipt for income tax purposes. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Cancer affects us all. We've all watched friends and family fight this battle with strength and perseverance, and we all know the pain when they are taken from us. Last year, I lost two special people in my life.
I ride for my friend and academy classmate, Ryan Bohm, whose dedication to his family, to his friends and to serving our community was remarkable. I also ride for my Uncle Steve Chow, whose appetite for life was only surmounted by his generosity and kindness. You are both my inspiration and I miss you guys.
Thanks for your donations and support!
