In September, I am participating in the 2018 Tour de Coast Cops for Cancer ride to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society. This is my first year participating in the 9 day, 800 km bike ride. The ride will take myself and the other riders through the Sunshine Coast, Sea to Sky Corridor, North Shore and the Lower Mainland.
The money raised from this event goes directly toward funding world class pediatric cancer research and funding kids' programs such as Camp Goodtimes in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Camp Goodtimes has been providing a safety-focused, medically supervised, fun and recreational experience for children and youth with cancer and their families since 1985.
This ride is something I have wanted to be part of as everyone seems to be touched by cancer in some way. My first experience with someone having the disease was when I was a teenager; the 6 year old boy that I babysat was diagnosed with leukemia. Recently, just before Christmas, a good friend was diagnosed with cancer.
Every dollar counts and takes us one step further in the fight against cancer!
Please assist me to reach my fundraising goal of $6,000.
Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
