I am participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
I am raising money in memory of my sister Emma Grace Smith, who passed away from brain cancer in June 2016, aged 12.
Like me, Emma enjoyed Lansdowne Middle School, was a Tour de Rock Junior Rider and supported the senior riders on the tour. I will be travelling with the tour on the last days of it in Victoria, and I will also be shaving my head when the tour gets to Lansdowne Middle School.
Please help me raise and exceed my fundraising goal of $1,000!
Emma also loved Camp Goodtimes (http://www.campgoodtimes.org/) where she was able to relax and enjoy herself with other child cancer patients and survivors. As a sibling I can also attend the camp each year, and I love it as it is such a special place. Tour de Rock, Cops for Cancer helps fund Camp Goodtimes, both on the mainland and this year also on Vancouver Island!
As well as Camp Goodtimes the money raised from Tour de Rock helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure, and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thank you for your support
