Hello, my name is Cst. Renae Williams, I am 10 year member of the Abbotsford Police Department. I have a passion for policing and a passion for helping others. I completed the tour in 2009 and am fortunate enough to ride again.
I am participating in 2018 Cops for Cancer Tour De Valley to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society in raising money to find a cure for childhood cancers.
I am also riding this year in honour of my dear friend and partner Cst. John Davidson who was killed in the line of duty on Nov.6, 2017. John had a deep love for this cause and a fire was lit in him as a member of the 2017 Tour De Valley. John worked tirelessly to raise as much money as he could and told me there was no embarrassment line he wouldn’t cross if it meant raising money for children fighting this disease.
Too many of my family members and close friends have been or are currently impacted by this horrific disease. The least I can do is ride for the cause and do my part in fundraising for a cure.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
