I am a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department. I am also a first-time rider participating in Cops for Cancer Tour De Coast to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
I am so excited and honoured to be part of the team riding for this important cause! We will be riding approximately 800 km over 9 days, as we travel through communities in the lower mainland and along the Sunshine Coast.
The money raised from this event helps fund:
- leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives,
- provides reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment,
- offers vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families,
- and advocates for healthy public policies.
Our goal is to raise awareness and funds to help end childhood cancer. For me, this ride is personal - I'm riding in memory of two childhood friends who lost their battles with cancer. As a child it was hard to understand how the best doctors and treatments couldn't save them from this terrible disease. It may have been over 20+ years since my friends passed away, but they have never been forgotten. I am riding to raise money so that one day no other family will have to deal with the pain of losing a child to cancer.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! We are fighting cancer one kilometer at a time and putting smiles back on the faces of kids battling this disease. Donating online is secure and easy to do!
Thank you for your support!
