Hi, I am Pete Gaiger and I am participating in the 2018 Cops for Cancer Tour De Coast to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
I am a currently serving member of the RCMP Powell River detachment and am excited to be joining the Cops for Cancer ride for my 1st year. The ride consists of 800 km over 9 days along the Sea to Sky corridor, Sunshine Coast, North Shore and cities in Metro Vancouver from Maple Ridge to Richmond.
Cancer touches us all and has affected my family, my wife's family, and several friends and associates directly and devastatingly. I will be riding in honour of those near and dear to my heart and for those who are living the cancer life.
I have committed to raising $10,000 for cancer research paediatric cancer research and caring support programs like Camp Goodtimes, located in Maple Ridge, BC. Camp Goodtimes is a camp for kids living with cancer and allows them to just be kids and have fun in a medically supported environment. The cost is $1500 to send one child to camp and can be too expensive for some families. With your help, I hope to bust that goal and raise more money for more kids to enjoy the camp!
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families, and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge, no matter the amount, takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
