I am excited to participate in the 2018 Cops for Cancer Tour de North, riding from Prince George to Prince Rupert this September.
I have been a police officer in the North for almost ten years, have served in Terrace and currently am stationed in Prince Rupert.
I have always had a passion for sports and being part of a team since I was a youth and now as an adult. I have learned to appreciate how it can bring people together and am looking forward to making new connections with my future riding team and within the community.
Many people are affected by cancer, I was one of the naive ones who believed it would never affect me; however, I was wrong. My father was diagnosed with cancer last year and thankfully he successfully completed his treatment, though this was a tough period for him to endure. I want to show my support by riding across Northern BC and to help fundraise for the cause.
The money raised from Cops for Cancer Tour de North helps:
• fund leading-edge pediatric cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives;
• provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment;
• and supports our award winning Camp Goodtimes.
Please donate and help us reach our fundraising goal! Every donation takes us one step further in the fight against pediatric cancer. Online donations are secure and save the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thank you so much for your support!
