Hi my name is Caelin Harris and I am a student at Oak Bay High School. I am participating in the Cops for Cancer 2018 Headshave at Oak Bay High, and many other Cops for Cancer events, to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society and to send as many kids battling cancer to Camp Good Times!
I have an uncle who has just recently finished his last round of radiation and it has been a long journey, but he has been amazing. I also know other people within my friend group who have gone through it and some have made it and others haven't which is always very tough to hear. I can't even imagine what it must be like for those young kids who already are going through so much and then to start feeling self conscious or insecure about how they look, it's really hard to see them go through that.
This Fall I will be cutting 12-14 inches of my hair off to turn into a wig for kids battling with cancer. My goal is to raise as much money as I can for this cause and to bring awareness to it. No amount is too little because every little bit helps and I would be so pleased and thankful if anyone would be willing to donate.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thank you so much for the support!
