I am participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
Amanda has organized a head shaving of one of our members here at Stn 136 in Tofino.
This HoeDown to SlowDown Cancer was a great success. Our Acting Unit Chief was the "unlucky" lucky recipient of a haircut. Picture at left. If you think this is an incomplete job, some, most would agree with you. During the event, after the 14 inches of long hair was removed and one clippered strip into the complete shave. The cut was stopped for a request to leave it at this ridiculous point for a month. Additional donations were raised.
In keeping with the fun of this event. We are continueing the above fundraiser to complete the haircut when Amanda returns with the riders at the end of September. As the point of the honorary head shave is to show support through the bald head. Donate in the usual manner and help support our rider and her efforts to support all the kids and families affected.
