I am participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
My school, Oak Bay High, raises money to allow children battling cancer to attend Camp Goodtimes. We raise money for children who cannot afford the expenses of going to this camp, due to the fees of having their care and safety needs met. This is a great experience for these children to be in a supportive place, having a camp adventure, like any child would want. They can have an amazing, fun time in a camp that is safe and medically supervised. Last year we raised over $90,000, and sent 60 kids to camp, but this year we are trying to beat that amount. One of our main fundraisers is the headshave on September 25th. People raise money to cut their hair or shave their heads. This year I have decided to participate and raise as much as I can to support this cause. I will be cutting ten inches of my hair off and donating it to “Locks for Love", a charity that makes wigs. All the money I raise for cutting it will help send kids with cancer to Camp Goodtimes.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
