Burning Bright for Cancer

Sudbury Synchro

Burning Bright for Breast Cancer is a beautiful event, where the girls swim our “Candle of Hope” around the pool in a relay for one hour. Each swimmer has the opportunity to carry the candle across the pool while they eggbeater. Our littlest swimmers have a buddy for support. The pool is filled with pink breast cancer duckies and music fills the air. The event is a wonderful experience to be involved in both as swimmers and parents. If you’ve never seen it, it’s a beautiful image about the power of hope and our ability to ALL make a difference.
All of our swimmers, recreational and competitive, are encouraged to participate in this fundraising event. Every cent that is donated goes directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. We track each swimmer’s total donations and the Canadian Cancer Society awards prize packages to any athlete who raises more than $250.00.

We also swim in support of those people we know who have battled, are battling and who will battle this disease. Synchro Ontario has established an award to honour Myra’s unwavering support for this cause. The Myra Gerow Award is given to the top fundraising club in the province. For those of you who are new to our club, we have won this award for many years –and our goal is to keep bringing it home!

Please pledge us and help us reach our fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.

Thanks for your support!
