2015 ES Tournament
Welcome to the Evergreen Squashes Cancer Fundraising Site!
Evergreen is hosting its third annual fundraising squash tournament to help eradicate cancer and enhance the lives of people living with cancer. As well as running a tournament for some 120 amateur men, women and juniors, Evergreen is also proud to be hosting a professional women’s event featuring 4 of the world’s top women’s squash pros. Throughout the tournament a silent auction will be running at the club, and a special entertainment event will take place featuring other fun activities for all ages.
We have some incredible news. A long time Evergreen member has offered to match donations made to the 2015 Evergreen Squashes Cancer fundraiser by members of the BC squash community. This unbelievable generosity means that donations made by the rest of us could double in value.
But there is a challenge involved. If the event can raise at least $5000 on the Canadian Cancer Society fundraising site, this member will match the goal of $5000.
If we can raise the initial $5000, your donation will help twice as many people receive treatment, provide twice as many families the support they need to deal with the impact of a parent, child or sibling fighting cancer, or fund twice the research.
Participants in the event are encouraged to create a personal fundraising page to collect donations before the event. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 individual fundraisers.
Read more about the event, donate or register now to raise funds to support leading-edge cancer research, prevention and support programs.
Note: this site is for fundraising purposes only, to register for the tournament please visit SportyHQ.
The men’s, women’s and juniors' amateur tournament takes place 7th January to 11th January 2015, and provides a great start to the new year. The pros will play in a round robin format. This event began in support of Evergreen’s friend and colleague Paul Marley who passed away from cancer. In October 2012 the club also suffered the terrible loss of a 10 year old junior to cancer. This event honours the brave members of our community touched by cancer who are an inspiration to us all. Evergreen Squashes Cancer helps to invest in life-saving research, compassionate support programs like the volunteer driver program that helps people get to treatment-related appointments, and innovative cancer prevention initiatives. Evergreen wishes to let people touched by cancer kinow that they are not alone.
