Let's all help defeat cancer!
I am Kayaking for Cancer again to change the future of this disease and to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. I hope I can count on your support!
When I paddled first in 2012 it was in memory of my brother Ron and in honour of my wife Jocelyn, a three-year breast cancer survivor at the time. Now, six years later, she is a nine-year survivor, but in the intervening years too many others among your families and friends and mine have been afflicted and too many of them have succumbed to cancer. 2018 is particularly poignant after earlier this year losing my neighbour Michelle to an aggressive inflammatory breast cancer (how bravely she fought, supported by a wonderful group of other cancer patients!), and after just days ago learning of the sudden diagnosis of stage 4 cancer in the mother of a friend. That elegant lady has just passed away less than three weeks after diagnosis. I paddle this year for them in particular and for my friend Ann and neighbour's mother-in-law Lena, both also dealing with breast cancer, and for your acquaintances dealing with cancer.
Please donate today and help me reach my fundraising goal! The money raised will help Canada’s brightest researchers make groundbreaking discoveries, provide cancer patients with much-needed support services and ensure that other life-changing work is possible.
