Sam is Turning the Page on Cancer!
In November 2014, at 24 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I dedicated a full year to my disease - Chemotherapy, radiation and a partial mastectomy. I was told I was cancer free!
Two months later, I found out that my cancer had come back and spread; to my bones, lungs and brain.
My cancer had advanced to Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC). For this diagnosis, there is no cure.
I’ve been fundraising for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation since my diagnosis, but this year I thought I would do something a bit different. Waking up early to run (even BEFORE cancer) wasn’t really my jam, and this is where Turning the Page on Cancer was born.
Mixing my passion for literacy and books with a fundraiser for MBC is my dream. All proceeds will go directly to MBC through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
