Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon - A Fight Against Breast Cancer
As most of you now know, on Sunday October 7th I will be running in my first marathon in Ottawa.
In 2017, over 200,000 Canadians were diagnosed with one of over 20 different types of cancer. Among these is breast cancer, which is the most common form found in women. Last year alone, an estimated 26,300 Canadian women were diagnosed. The recent decrease in cancer mortality rates are a clear inidcation that by working together Canadians can overcome even the worst diseases. However, as cancer is still the leading cause of death in Canada, we need to continue to come together in our fight against cancer.
Deciding to run this marathon has given me an opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. In addition with it being one of the most prevelent forms of cancer, it ultimately leads to unimaginably devastating circumstances for families across Canada. Therefore, as October is breast cancer awareness month, I have chosen to raise funds for breast cancer by participating in this marathon.
I hope you can help me reach my goal of raising upwards of $1000 by donating through the link on the right or by sharing this page with friends and family. The money raised will help Canada’s brightest researchers make groundbreaking discoveries, provide cancer patients with much-needed support services, and ensure that other life-changing work is possible.
Thank you so much!
Proceeds from my fundraiser will support Breast cancer research
