Welcome Schmidty's fundraising page!
This year I will be participating in the Commerce Collegiate Classic hockey tournament at Queen's University in support of Brain Cancer Research. Any donation you can afford goes a long way and is very much appreciated by myself and especially those directly affected.
Every day about 25 Canadians are diagnosed with a brain tumour. Gord Downie, lead singer of the Tragically Hip, was one of those Canadians. He received a devastating diagnosis of late-stage glioblastoma in December 2015. About 3,000 Canadians are given the same news each year – that they have some form of brain cancer.
Glioblastoma is the most common primary brain cancer in adults. Unfortunately it's currently incurable. But our researchers are making tremendous progress increasing survival rates.
Please donate today and help me reach my fundraising goal! The money raised will help Canada’s brightest researchers make groundbreaking discoveries, provide cancer patients with much-needed support services and ensure that other life-changing work is possible.
Your generosity will help the Canadian Cancer Society continue to make the most impact, against the most cancers, in the most communities across the country.
Make your donation online – it’s fast, secure and will reduce administrative costs so more of your support goes towards the fight against cancer.
